My daughter came to Refined Sensory Solutions with difficulties pertaining to relationships with her peers and sensitivities to the way clothes felt on her body. The emotional outbursts that we experience daily not only affected her quality of life but also that of the whole family. Her experience began rough as she resisted coming and by the end of therapy, she did not want to leave! The results have been amazing. She is wearing clothes and shoes with comfort that 6 months ago she would have not put on. Her peer relationships have improved and she is better able to deal with conflict. We are so happy we made the decision to bring her to RSS!Karlye
My daughter was a borderline case. We knew "something was not right" but we no official diagnosis. I heard a radio ad for Refined Sensory Solutions and completed the online assessment. We were not sure how much it would help but felt we could not pass up the opportunity. It was by far the BEST parenting decision we have ever made! She listens better and is able to verbally communicate what she needs. Even if we have a conflict, her behavior is far less traumatic than before. She is an amazing child full of love for life and thanks to RSS now others can see it too!Danielle
When we started the Refined Sensory Solutions program, our son would have meltdowns continuously throughout the day. He was unable to control his emotions, which was damaging his relationships with others. After treatment, we have seen a significant decrease in meltdowns and improvement in his ability to control and articulate his emotions. We've also seen improvement in his gross motor skills! He's now swinging, jumping, skating and swimming-all things that caused distress in the past! Thank you RSS.Andrea
About Us
Refined Sensory Solutions (formerly Sensory Learning Center of West Michigan) was started in October, 2005 in Allendale, Michigan, by Dr. Patricia Roslund. We work with individuals as young as 2 1/2 years old and our oldest to date was age 65. This program addresses issues with sensory processing and provides benefits in the sensory areas, regardless of diagnosis. Over two decades ago, it was originally set up to help autistic children and adults and has expanded to ADD/ADHD, Language Processing Disorder, Bipolar, etc, due to the better understanding about the many links to our sensory processing system. Since our clinic opened in 2005, we have work with individuals of all ages and a wide variety of diagnoses.
